Announcing the release of Vanguard, the first real-time 3D reconnaissance system providing eyes for first responders, defence and mining

For Immediate Release
Sydney, Australia, August 31, 2023

Visionary Machines is proud to announce the highly anticipated launch of Vanguard — the first reconnaissance system that provides eyes on the ground for crucial personnel conducting critical operations.

Visionary Machines CEO Gary Aitchison said: “Vanguard combines our advanced camera-based Pandion™ sensor technology with an intuitive and customisable reconnaissance toolset. The system is a self-contained retrofit, that can be mounted to almost any vehicle.

Vanguard solves the real-time reconnaissance needs of defence, emergency services and mining, enhancing disaster recovery, operational efficiencies, vehicle crew safety and defence reconnaissance missions.”

Vanguard is the first high-fidelity, real-time, assured-position reconnaissance system that generates annotated 3D representations of the world, empowering users with real-time actionable intelligence ‘at the edge’. The system rapidly captures rich 3D maps from the front of vehicles, capturing changing environments as responders move into an area. Data is presented in real-time to ground teams, and fed back to central command-and-control systems.

The Vanguard system utilises Visionary Machines 3rd generation Pandion™ sensor. The sensor enables machines to perceive the 3D world around them at long range, in real-time, in any lighting conditions, day or night.

Visionary Machines will launch Vanguard in Australia on the 31st of August, followed by the Vanguard system’s international launch in October 2023.
