“Visionary Machines was proud to be one of just 20 companies selected globally to participate and one of only two Australian companies. Our team showcased the Pandion Sentinel system delivering 3D high-accuracy detection and tracking of Micro and Mini UAS. The system performed extremely well in a major urban city environment as it does not suffer from clutter and operates completely passively without emitting any signals”.
“This opportunity underscores our commitment to delivering world-leading counter drone technology for defence and civil security applications.” said Visionary Machines CEO Sonny Foster.
The drone threat landscape is evolving at an incredible pace, UAS are more readily available, increasingly complex and affordable, with capabilities like AI enabled autonomous control, high speed, RF signal hopping and fibre optic capabilities capable of evading current CUAS approaches. A significant operational advantage of the Pandion Sentinel system is its unique ability to detect and track drones with 3D precision while being agnostic to UAS control methods able to address both existing and rapidly evolving next-gen drone threats, while the Pandion Sentinel system itself is completely passive, emitting no targetable signals.
The week-long exercise involved close collaboration with end-users from the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), and U.S. and global government representatives, alongside leading science and technology experts.
“This event was an invaluable opportunity to gather real-world feedback in an urban environment and further refine Pandion Sentinel for defence and security applications. We were delighted with the system performance experienced across all scenarios and challenging weather conditions” said Nick Gibbs, COO of Visionary Machines.
